Craig Dowd, Vice President of Acquisitions, is responsible for sourcing and underwriting new investment and development opportunities as well as streamlining business operations.
Prior to joining Sanders Equities, Dowd was a Manager in the Macy’s Real Estate Development group which strategizes the monetization of Macy’s real estate assets. In that role, he focused on negotiating joint ventures with best-in-class development partners to design and construct large-scale projects across all property sectors and geographies.
Dowd began his professional career in Real Estate Finance at Intervest National Bank before moving on to MUFG Union Bank. He served as a Director in the Real Estate Institutional Markets Group at MUFG Union Bank in New York, underwriting, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex real estate transactions. During his career, Dowd closed and managed over $2B of secured real estate loans. Dowd cultivated relationships among all members of the capital stack, primarily working with institutional clients that included owners, developers, REITs, and fund managers, such as The Carlyle Group and Starwood Capital Group.
Dowd received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgetown University and currently is a member of The Georgetown University Real Estate Alliance. He is a past Co-Chair of RELA’s Young Lender’s Committee. Dowd was the Captain of the Georgetown University Lacrosse team and served as a Captain on the 2008 gold medal winning U-19 USA Lacrosse team.
